At D.L.S., we have always recognised the need for a stable secure environment which a young foreign girl can trust, and turn to in the event of difficulties...
This is why our Home Help scheme is so structured.
Too many agencies content themselves with charging a fee, putting families and candidates in touch, and leaving them to sort out any problems (and there will always be problems, if only minor ones).
The results are predictable: families lose their au-pairs, do not know who to turn to, the girls are left high and dry, and nobody takes any responsibility.
At D.L.S., we ask for a very formal commitment from both parties, who have to supply references and be prepared to submit themselves to a formal interview.
At the French office, we interview the girls personnally, and a D.L.S. organiser -who lives locally- is directly responsible for interviewing the families, and for the smooth running of the stays once the girls and in the U.K.
This is why we only cover the two Counties of Kent and Sussex, offering however a superb service for both the girls and their host families.
